It's here! Metroid Arrange 25th Anniversary Album, by the Bad Dudes.
I have three tracks on this bad boy, and the rest of the Bad Dudes are are at the top of their game as well. Electronica, jazz fusion, rock... and a monster medley by Joshua Morse as well. Highly recommended; our best album since CHRONOTORIOUS.

Yep, it's true, I don't update the mobile version of this page often. Summing up, the below are all remix projects that have been released that I'm in:
What else... well, I'm still plugging away at my new American Album, my wife has a new jewelry business, and the Bad Dudes are gonna be doing a panel at MAGFest... otherwise, just still insanely busy doing web stuff.

Well, I'm doing it. After months of brainstorming and thinking it over, the ideas won't let go, so, I'm officially in production on my new solo album: American Pixels.
http://www.americanpixels.com/
Got a bonus EP, "Star Spangled Chips" on there for those who can aid in my production expenses by placing a pre-order. Progressive chiptune arrangements of the main themes from Bioshock, Medal of Honor, Myst IV: Revelation, and Grim Fandango. Good stuff.
The project is open for requests, and there's plenty to read on the website. Enjoy, and stay tuned! |

Well, big news of the day is the release of "Heroes vs. Villains", a remix project collaboration put together by the Bad Dudes, and Overclocked Remix. Me, I have two tracks in this one. "Dieselbrainage", a drum and bass remix of the Mother Brain theme from Super Metroid, and "Hot Air Penguin", a jungle jazz version of the King Dedede theme from the Kirby's Dreamland series. Granted while I contribute to both the Bad Dudes EPs/albums and OCR, in this particular instance I take on the villains.
Check out the full project here: http://hvv.ocremix.org
Incidentally, I also designed the Heroes vs. Villains website, so, I hope you like it. Original album artwork on that by Randall Drew. |

CHRISTOPHER GETMAN (MAZEDUDE) BIO
 |
 |
Christopher Getman has been a jack-of-all-trades in the world of entertainment for several years. He has dabbled in music, sound design, acting, voices, stunts, motion capture, video editing, dvd design, and much more. His first love, however, was music. Regardless of what crazy paths life took him on, he never lost the passion for creating unique musical experiences.
Today Christopher designs high-end Flash websites for a living, but still occasionally finds time to make kick-ass tunage for various tribute albums, remix projects, and music libraries.
-- (alternate below)
Mazedude is most known for his video game music remixes, as featured on Overclocked Remix, the Bad Dudes, and many other remix project related websites. He gained notoriety in 2006 for his development of The American Album, the first project of its kinds to tribute solely American video game music composers. Along the way he became friends with video game music legends Tommy Tallarico, Jack Wall, and many others. He is also contributor to the famed album CHRONOTORIOUS, an arranged album of the music to the classic SNES game Chrono Trigger put together by the Bad Dudes. He was also included twice on Tallarico's Earthworm Jim Anthology, a collection of the best music and arrangements of the music to the popular game "Earthworm Jim."
To date, Christopher has worked as a film scorer, video game music composer, remixer and arranger on countless projects, and a contributor of original music to music libraries such as Atrium Music Group, Zircontrax, and others.
At the moment, Mazedude has his sights on doing another arranged album tribute to American vg music composers, this time paying homage to those he wasn't able to tribute the first time around, including Garry Schyman (composer for the music of Bioshock, Dante's Inferno, Destroy All Humans, and more), Gerard K. Marino (God of War composer), Michael Land (Monkey Island series) and more. If all goes as imagined, that will be a project for 2012... but, more details will be unveiled as it comes together. |

REMIXES BY MAZEDUDE
(That's what you're here for, right? The video game music arrangements? Gonna add the other music (originals, capoeira music remixed) for this iPhone alternate page later on.)

"Tangerine Fever" ~ Donkey Kong Country 3 (GBA)
My contribution to "Donkey Kong Country 3: Double the Trouble!," this is actually one of personal favorites that I've done. I emulate the style of Andrew "Necros" Sega and his award-winning work "Tangerine Fascination", while simultaneously paying homage to David Wise's work on the game. Fun stuff. "Dolphin with a Shotgun" ~ Plok (SNES)
A remix of the "Shotgun" theme from Plok. Original theme by Tim Follin. The idea here was to take one of the goofiest tracks from the Plok score, and arrange it to sound as though it was from the soundtrack to Ecco: Defender of the Future, which was also composed by Tim Follin. An odd experiment, but fun, and I'd been wanting do an "underwater" style remix for a while. |

"Flipper Costume" ~ Ecco: DOTF (PS2)
A goofy inversion of the above concept, this takes a track from Ecco and makes it sound as though it's goofy costume music straight out of Plok. |

"To Tango With a Pirate" ~ Metroid Prime (Gamecube)
An avant-garde and experimental remix, this takes the Space Pirates theme from Metroid Prime and reworks it into an Astor Piazzolla-esque modern tango. Admittedly dark, harsh and dissonant, this piece features unusual usage of cello, piano, bandoneon, and other string sounds. |

"Eulogy of Termination" ~ Wild Arms (PS1)
For some reason, the original on this one reminded of the music from Terminator 2... so, I tried to mimic the style a bit. I admit the mastering sucks; I was using some pretty lousy samples and couldn't undo the mud. Hope you enjoy it anyways. "Saren's Prayer" ~ Mass Effect (Xbox 360)
Here, I covered "Saren's Theme" from Mass Effect in an homage to "Sinner's Prayer" by Sully Erna, from the album "Avalon." An unusual fusion, and I admit I went a bit more Celtic with it than Avalon did, but still it was fun to do a Mass Effect remix. From the project "BadAss Boss Themes" at http://badass.ocremix.org. |

"Wizard's Bride" ~ Wizards & Warriors (NES)
An ode to Warder - a musician and fellow tracker I grew up admiring - this is an homage to "Whistler's Bride," an excellent piece of Nordic fusion that I still listen to today. Thanks to Warder for the low Irish whistle and accordion sounds, and to Sting for the Uillean pipe solos. |

"Grand Metroid Island" ~ Metroid Prime (Gamecube)
A free sample from the upcoming Bad Dudes CD "Metroid Arrange 25th Anniversary Album." This is my take on the Menu Select theme, in a bizarre fusion of Caribbean and electronic genres. This and much more on the new album; visit www.baddudesmusic.com for more information. From the project "Metroid Arrange 25th Anniversary Album" at http://baddudesmusic.com. |

"Morricone Man" ~ Mega Man 9 (Wii)
My contribution to Overclocked Remix's "Back in Blue" project, honoring the music of Mega Man 9. This is my take on the "Maze of Death" theme... which seemed fitting, considering I'm Mazedude. Stylistically this is a fusion of influences, mainly blending Ennio Morricone style with ethnic Tuatara flavors. Take that, add some electronics, some Native American elements, a little bit of jazz... and you get this. From the project "Back in Blue" at http://backinblue.ocremix.org. |

"Parasite X" ~ Metroid Prime (Gamecube)
My contribution to the "Harmony of a Hunter" album, this is an arrangement of the "Vs. Parasite Queen" theme from Metroid Prime, originally by Kenji Yamamoto and Koichi Kyuma. Not sure what to call this genre... aggressive ambient funk, something like that? I dunno, it was inspired by my chillout composer colleague Xerxes, and then ramped up a notch. Either way, I've enjoyed the Metroid Prime soundtrack since I first heard it, so paying it homage was fun, and I recommend you check out the full free album Harmony of a Hunter, lots of groovy tracks on it! "Retrohead Five" ~ Retro City Rampage (WiiWare)
Another contest tune, this is my take on the main theme to Retro City Rampage, originally composed by none other than my friend Jake Kaufman. My first Virt remix, this was a very challenging source tune to tackle... but was a TON of fun once I got into it. Stylistically, this is an homage to Basehead, of Five Musicians (hence the remix title). From the project "Retro City Rampage" at http://www.retrocityrampage.com. |

"Dieselbrainage" ~ Super Metroid (SNES)
I knew I wanted to tackle the Mother Brain theme since the initial conception of this project. It's a theme I've always had 'on the brain', so to speak, considering the unusual use of the 7/4 time signature for a boss theme. When it came time to remix that, I had a blast taking the odd time signature motif and applying it to the drum 'n bass genre, one that you hardly ever hear in 7/4. The end result was challenging, but a lot of fun, and I'm quite proud of the result. The title is a nod to Dieselboy, a drum 'n bass artist who I listened to a lot while developing this track. Nods also go to RS3; thanks for the samples and inspiration. From the project "Heroes vs. Villains" at http://hvv.ocremix.org. |

"Hot Air Penguin" ~ Kirby Superstar (SNES)
This one went through quite a bit of evolution. My first pass was a Miles Davis-esque jazz thing... which didn't quite work, so then I decided to do a genre I've rarely tackled: jungle jazz. And, it worked! Making it piano-centric was a strong point from the get-go (and I thank Bladiator for his input), and then the introduction of the trombone was something else I hadn't done in a long while. Yes, that's me playing... pretty rusty, I know. That, and the mix by Insert Rupee inspired me to get some 8-bit goodness going on there too, so... all in all it may be a tad bit messy, but still tons of fun in a chaotic way. I'm also a fan of the Kirby games, so the nostalgia there added to the experience. :) From the project "Heroes vs. Villains" at http://hvv.ocremix.org. |

"All Outta Gum" ~ Duke Nukem 3D (PC)
Going back to my roots here, tackling another oldschool PC first person shooter. This time it's Duke Nukem 3D, for which I've been receiving requests for a while now. This mix is definitely for Halloween, combining elements from the "Candyman" soundtrack (by Philip Glass) with elements from the score to "Resident Evil: Afterlife" (by Tomandandy). Enjoy. |

"Lounge Lemmings" ~ Lemmings (PC)
As a kid I really enjoyed the classic "Lemmings" games, and really wanted to remix this theme for a while. So here 'tis, lemmings just chillin' out for a change. |

"What's that Sound?" ~
An arrangement of a classic oldie, with new lyrics performed by myself and my best friend Erik Owen. |

"Sunken Souls" ~
My final project for orchestration class, a full orchestra arrangement of Sunken Souls, originally by my friend Reduz (Juan Linietsky). |

"Come Back to Me" ~
Joe Cam asked for a remix of one of his vocal pieces, and he wanted caribbean death metal with bagpipes. This is close enough. :) |

My arrangement of Joe Cam's "Come Back to Me;" this is the instrumental version, no singing. |

A gag mix made for a "Final Fantasy Mystic Quest" project (organized by Joe Cam), created from Homestar Runner samples. |

"Mazedude's Kitchen" ~ Adventures of Lolo (NES)
